New Job is a dream come true...

I just finished the first month of school in my new position: Co-teacher and Resource Teacher! I love my new position!

I love it because:
~I'm working with younger, special-needs kids
~the kids are so eager
~they try so hard
~everyone in my building has been so supportive, telling me if there's anything I need, don't hesitate, etc.
~my boss is bending over backward to get me anything I need for my classroom
~I'm learning the paperwork, which is a LOT
~I get to work one-on-one with kids--it's so rewarding

I came from a junior high building, where I taught regular ed students in 8th grade history. I love history, but I got burn-out after 15 years teaching teens. I just can't handle the attitudes any more. The final straw came last year when I had DD14 in my class along with all her buddies, had a student teacher, was taking online classes, mentoring a novice teacher...

I just wanted to share my great fortune!!!

I also do resource (but we call it "pullout") and co-teaching for 4th and 5th graders. It is very rewarding and I LOVE my co-teacher. I do pullout in my classroom in the morning and then spend the rest of the day in a regular education 4th grade class.
