Default President Bush Signs Unemployment Benefits Extension

A bit of good news for those of us who've recently exhausted our UnEmployment Benefits - - and are still UnEmployed...

    http://www.waaytv.com/global/story.asp?s=9391649

NOTE: Though most States already knew this was coming, I've not found that any State's Dept of Labor site has anything posted (yet) re: this most recent bill (and I checked about 20 of them). However, Georgia and Alabama are already gearing up to begin issuing checks to qualified recipients once they receive the funds - - and determine just what qualifications said recipients have to satisfy.

This wasn't a big surprise to me seeing as Iowa extended it's unemployment benefits for 13 weeks because of the flooding. Atleast people who are on unemployment and need it to survive has a little more breathing room.

This is great since my husband is currently on unemployment and there has been no luck finding a job so far. Our city has one of the highest unemployment rates in the U.S.
