OMG trying not to get my hopes up but...
I put in a application for a job a couple of weeks ago and they called me about it this afternoon.
I am a pulic servant with a permanent position, this position is at a higher level (over $10K per year extra salary) for a 6 month period with a different department I would get to keep my permanent job, they will just fill it with some one else temporarily until I came back (or found another permanent position which I would definately try to do at the end of my term in this job)
The lady I spoke to today sounded really positive about my application and asked me to come down to their office tomorrow to meet the bosses and discuss if this position would be suitable for me.
She said that it would be very informal and that they were very interseted to meet me. I wish she hadn't sounbded so positive because now I can taste this job I really want it...
will let you all know how the interview goes and will try not to be crushed if I don't get the job. ahh interviews are so nerve wraking.Debt 1 - Paid in Full (originally $750)

Wishing you an excellent interview tomorrow! (Today?)
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

thanks guys,
I've just come back from the interview now. (for any confused people I am in australia hence the screwy times)
Was a very positive interview, very informal and I walked away feeling really good about it.
The boss has just called to speak to my supervisor about my experience as well as to clarify when I might be able to start.
I am trying not to get too excited but I can't help it and I really want this job - not just for the money but also for the opportunity.
she told me that she will get back to me today or tomorrow morning so I will let you know as soon as I hear.Last edited by missmanny; 02-11-2009 at 08:43 PM.
