    Thumbs up I am TRYING....

    to get a job!!! I went and took the Instructional AIde/Paraeducator exam at the high school district Thursday along with 100 other people. I also dropped 2 apps at elementary/jr high district- crossing guard and lunch lady. I also applied at Toys r Us, Kmart and a hotel.
    I had a phone interview Wednesday for a merchandising job...the district mgr was supposed to call me to go over the job more in depth late Wed or Thurs but she never did maybe it didn't go so well.

    Just keep your head up, there will be something coming. I got a job by checking Craigslist and it was a legit job too, been there 3 weeks... was working somewhere else but they were only giving me 6 hours a week so I found this new job and I like it. I am a manager of a postal type shipping store.

    If you really need something immediate and flexible, I used to clean houses for people. It was word of mouth, but it was cash, right away, and something I needed no training for. You advertise it by telling everyone you know that you can get their home 'mother-in-law ready' for the holidays!!!

    I have another friend that found a job on Craigslist a few months ago as well. She is working for a school photographer. I think I need to look on there too.

    I wanted to share I got my test results from the HS district.I needed at least a 70%...I passed with a 78%!! Now I wait for them to ask for a background,fingerprinting,physical to be placed on the list. They said they take the higfhest scorers first but I have also been advised once I get my scores to contact them and ask to be put on the sub list. So thats what I will do. I also got a card regarding the crossing guard job at the elementary district advising once the job posting closes I will be contacted for a testing date. Still no word on the merchandising job. Its ok I believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason and what and when its time!!

    Hang in there and keep applying! I was able to grab a seasonal retail job. With Christmas around the corner these jobs may available. If they like you, they might keep you on after Christmas.
