DH lost his job...
Yep, so DH lost his job last night.
I don't know if I told you all, but it was a really bad enviroment. DH's boss hated DH because DH's uncle is head manager and DH's boss was trying to get Wayne fired and it ended up happening.
He kept having DH lift stuff he really should not of been lifting because DH has a really bad back but DH would do it anyway but it got so bad DH had to say something and DHs boss called him a liar and was cussing at him (like always) and I guess DH just had enough so DH started yelling at him to and DH said his boss he could tell was trying to get DH to hit him but DH kept his cool, and DH got fired.
But ya know what, he is better off. He would come home every morning so upset by this guy and no one would do anything (not even his uncle) even though there have been reports of him being like that.
DH is going to try to get unemployment for 2 months while he is in training to be a blackjack dealer at a casino (his dream is coming true!). Training is 2 months and then he goes live, so we just need something for two months!
Hopefully he gets it, but he is still looking for something else to do part time do.
I had no idea how DH was going to do dealer training 4 hours a day, and work 3rd shift 8 hours a day and take me to 3 babysitting jobs. Would have been crazy for him so dad says he is better off anyway.
But its still scary!! Thank goodness I have a good income coming in right now.

Sounds like he removed himself from a bad environment. You sound positive which is great! Good luck to him in his new venture!

Yeah, DH was suprised I am taking it as good as I am. Reason being is, I have to admit, if I was in that terrible enviroment that he was, I would not of even made it that long. I cannot emotionally deal with people yelling at me like that, and I could tell it was breaking DH down so I was almost happy when he told me.
We have been living on one income for a while now (his) and now its just switched for a few weeks.
Another reason I am not as upset and I would think I would be is because this week we got totally caught up on DHs car payments and car insurance, and those are the only bills we have other than food and gas. Oh, and with DH not going to that job anymore we are saving $50-60 a week in gas!!!!!

In NY working part-time makes you lose a big chunk of unemployment benefits. Make sure you know the NJ law - you don't need a criminal fraud charge.

I've heard Blackjack dealers can make some good money so I hope it works out for him.

He will make pretty good money being a dealer! Its mostly tips! Mek what do you mean? If DH does not get unemployment he will try to find a job, but he is not working at a part time job. He is not working at all right now. If you mean his training, he does not get paid for that.

Sounds as if it is all going to work out great for both of you!! Glad that your attitude is so positive!!

Just like frugalfoster said above - things happen for a reason. I'm glad your DH is outta the negative environment!
Opportunities present themselves all the time. Its up to you to be prepared for anything and especially prepared to make that jump to take certain opportunities.
Things always have a way of working themselves out. Keep thinking positive!
Sending more good

Ashley, I think I read two of your paragraphs together last night and misunderstood something. There should be no problem doing training while on unemployment. My bad.
Hope all goes well!

The boss yelling and cussing at him on a regular basis is grounds for a lawsuit much less unemployment especially if there are witnesses. That is so totally illegal in the work place.
Anyway good luck to the both of you and hope it goes well.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

It sounds like it was a poison environment. Unfortunately, more of those around than you would believe, and people feel stuck because of the horrible economy. I had that in my job too. I had a series of bad bosses - pretty amazing. One actually took me to HR to fire me, they gave me the severance package, I said no thanks, stood up and went back to my desk. They did not know what to do. I'm still here, he was fired a couple of years later.
I sincerely wish every success for him, it sounds that that job has potential.
