Good Thing about Work!
I know that I whine about my job all the time, but I wanted to share something good that happened on Friday.
I have been really fed up with my boss for a long time (like, ever since I started working there). Last week and the Thursday & Friday prior, he was out with the chicken pox. It made me realize that I do actually like my job (the stuff I actually DO every day) but not my boss. I was sick enough that I put my resume out and actually called three places. On Wednesday, we were told that the owner's wife (my boss's mom - yes, its a family run company) was holding a meeting. I started to get really worried. So on Friday we get ready for this meeting. They take us out to a nice country club (all of the sandwiches were $10, and you had to be a member to eat there, to give you some idea of how nice the place is) for a three hour lunch. After the second hour we find out that my boss doesn't like being customer service manager anymore (I'm in customer service) and he's going out on the road to be a full-time salesman! His mom is going to be interim manager. I don't agree with all of her decisions, but she is SOO MUCH better to deal with than he is!
All this was so great, I had to change my mood from upset (reason: work) to excited (reason: work) !
Thanks for letting me brag - it was so much better than venting/whining like I usually do!Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

Well, no wonder he was hard to get along with --- he was hating it too! Thank goodness he realizes and is able to make a change and make changes for the rest of you!
I hope the interim manager (Mom) works out okay and that when they hire a permanent person the situation will be rosy!

That's good news.
I'm glad he's moving onto trying something else and that it will improve your work conditions too.
