    Default Benefits?

I just started my new job and I cannot believe how awesome my benefits are! I was wondering how they compare to everyone else's - I know my last company had terrible benefits.

    I currently have:

*10 designated holidays plus 2 floating holidays (my choice when to take them)
    *A Pension Plan
*A 401K with a 100% match on the first 3%, $.50 match on the next 2%, and no vesting schedule for company match - I'm already 100% vested.
*Health Insurance is Blue Cross/Blue Shield - cost for DH and I is $80/month. Prescriptions are $5/10/25, Office visits are $15, don't need a referral for a specialist. $1000 deductible
*Dental Insurance - $1000 cap for the years, covers 80% of most things - $10/month
*Vision Insurance - $15 co-pay on exam, lenses are covered 100%, up to $120 for a pair of frames every two years - $12/month
    *2 weeks vacation
*FSA with a company match dollar for dollar up to $500
    *Daycare FSA
*Life insurance for 2x my salary at no cost to me

I figure the benefits alone are worth a HUGE payraise from my other job! I'll be spending at least $30 less on insurance, and this includes adding a vision plan (which I don't currently have).

Wow congrats! I'm always fed up at how cruddy my benefits (and working conditions) are, considering I work for the US gov't. You'd think all that money they take in would be good for something.. well they sure don't pass it on to us!

The only things that make it worthwhile is the job security and decent pay.

Let's see if I can remember what my benefits are.

I don't have to pay anything extra for benefits.

My deductible per person is $100. I have a Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO. All doctors in my metro area are part of the network. All my office visits are covered at 100% provided there is a diagnosis. Yearly wellness exams aren't covered. Surgeries and etc. . .are covered at 100%

    My prescription coverage is $10/$20.

I have vision insurance; not great. It pays $43 for the exam, and up to $79 for contacts or frames.

I have dental insurance. The maximum yearly coverage per person, I think, is $1500. It pays 85% of services.

I can contribute up to $2500 a year into my FSA. My employer doesn't match.

I have life insurance, think it is maybe around $50,000.

My vacation time and holiday time is 4 1/2 weeks a year. I also have 13 sick days, but two days are deposited into the central sick bank.

I can bank up to 30 sick days.

I can contribute to a 403b plan, but my employer doesn't match contributions.

Overall, I have excellent benefits. I don't have to pay anything extra to have by dh or eventually kids on the policy.
