Red face Yikes! I have my first interview in 12 yrs...

...next Tuesday. I am so nervous! Our financial situation dictates that I return to work now that the girls are both in school every day. I don't want to go back, but I really don't have a choice.

If you could spare some good thoughts, vibes, etc, I'd really appreciate it. I don't interview well, and I'll probably make myself sick over this until I go in

Congratulations on the interview. Just getting the interview is half the battle!!!

Just be yourself, don't try to change to make yourself into the person you think they want. Be honest and sincere. Good luck to you!!!

Just be confident. Just keep telling yourself how great you are... You write well so I bet you speak better than you think. Also, if you don't get this job, there will be others. I remember once that I had 9 interviews and it wasn't until I had the 9th interview that I got a teaching job. This job ended up being for the highest pay and the closest to home. So, if its meant to be, it will work out. Otherwise, there is probably a better job waiting for you.

THat is great. Just be yourself. What job is it for? Same hours that the girls have or will they go into like an after school program?
It is an adjustment!! I was home for 12 years and went back to work last spring back in the spring it was just a sub job and has since become a perm. job it is just 3.5 hours a day but an adjustment when you are used to doing whatever you want and at your own speed all day.

    Good luck!!

Thanks. I am terrified. Utterly terrified. I'll be lucky if I can put a few words together into an intelligent sentence

Michele, the interview is next week

Thank you for the compliment, Shannon

Eileen, it's a customer service position for Mass Near (Northeast Association of Realtors)--they're in Chelmsford near the Drum Hill rotary (behind Wal Mart). It's a full time position, so the girls will need to go to before & after school day care.

Michelle I know that you will do great. Just go in there with the attitude that no matter what happens I am better for doing this.

    Chelle-

My work requires me to do a lot of public speaking, and in the beginning I had to fake confidence and a gregarious nature. So here's my advice: Fake it 'till you make it.

If you can go into the interview believing that they will be LUCKY to get you, you'll ace it. They would have to be FOOLS not to want to have you on their team, right? SURELY they wouldn't hold their business back by not asking you to come work with them. They NEED you. You're going to HELP them.

    Go get 'em!
