Real Estate as a career?
Anyone here work in real estate?
I am unemployed and the job market in Maine is pretty slim.
Thinking about taking a sales agent course and trying real estate. I did this years ago in the UK but havent done this in the US at all.
Anyone have any insights?

No real estate career here. Just wanting to wish you all the best in whatever career you decide.

I did check into it at one time. It costs a bit to get started, and you don't make anything until you get that first commission (average time from getting licsensed to that first check is six months). Before you get your first commission, there are quite a few expenses, like business cards, professional fees, yard signs, cell phone expense, you really need a laptop computer, too. Good luck if you try it. Some people do it for a year without making a sale.
