Amy, it's not that it's not working out for the reason I won't be doing it any more--it was a temporary job to help the college bookstore through their rush. The kids started classes last Tuesday, and they all came in to buy their textbooks. I rang $28K on my register alone Tuesday.
They don't treat their temps very well, it was minimum wage, short shifts (so I was working every day, but my shifts were only 3.5-5.5 hrs each), etc.

I am also glad this was only a temp job since you didn't like it.
Are you thinking of looking for something else or do you plan on being a SAHM? Good luck in whatever you decide.~*Michelle*~

Michelle! I'm sorry you had such a crappy time. I am real glad you can leave there with dignity! Was it worth it?

I am sorry you did not like it. I hope the minimum wage where you live is more than it is here, $5.15 an hour (I think). I hope you can find something you like better, that pays a bit more, and still works around your children's school hours. Have you ever considered waitressing? I did that for years. Sometimes there are lunch shifts available, and with tips you make two or three times the minimum wage. It is good exercise, too.

Yes, minimum wage here is $6.75. I wouldn't have been able to stay even if I did like it (because they don't need me except for during the "rush period"), so it's not that it didn't work out really---I'm just glad that it's ending!
Michelle, yes I imagine I will keep looking for something PT. The hard part about that is school vacations and the summers. I won't make enough working mother's hours to be able to afford day care during those times. I will need to look for something FT (ugh!) or work weekends and never see Dave or the kids very much
