Any Nurses?
I am an LVN, and work in a Nursing Home at present. I say "at present" because I am taking some time off to reconnect with my God, my husband, and myself. Coming back to Frugal Village is a good place to reconnect.
Anyway, I am wondering if there are any other nurses on site? I would love to hear from any before I start.

I'm an RN working full time in critical care at a teaching hospital in Springfield IL.
Trying to get a degree in ASL interpreting, so I can at least reduce my nursing work hours.

My plan so far, after I take a few weeks off, is to go work in a hospital, and then try home health. I really like LTC, but I tend to get too close to the residents and then they pass on.

I'm hoping to start school in the fall to start working towards getting RN. I'm hoping that sort of career will give me access to good health insurance and pay well enough part time so I can be home with my kids most of the time (my future, hypothetical kids, that is
)

I think most of us are nurses? Seems that way!
I spent years in LTC. My last full time employment was MDS Coordinator. I'm taking a break to raise kids and do my own thing. I'm sort of starting to miss it, sometimes. I loved Hospice, even though some might not consider that nursing.

I consider Hospice nursing. I can't do it, but I have a lot of respect for those who do. In LTC, I have had 4 go in the last 2 months. I just need a break. Two more weeks and I am through for at least 2-3 months.

Hi! I am an RN in Ontario, Canada. I work in the community as a visiting RN. I just started this job a few weeks ago. I left the hospital a year ago due to major burnout!! Community nursing should allow me to manage my family/work schedule better. I work three days per week (this is considered full time to this agency) and I work one weekend in four where I am on call 24 hours per day during this weekend.

I am so glad that I am not just feeling sorry for myself. If I cannot get into Home Health, I am going prn. The money is good, but what good is it if I can't keep my act together? I do know that I will probably not be going back to LTC.
