I did not get the job!
They said that they have chosen someone else with more experience although they found me to a 'personable and capable' woman.
Plan B
I'm moving back up north where rents are cheaper and getting my upgrading (I dropped out in grade 8), then I am going to enter into the new culinary arts program up there. I can work all year while I take my upgrading (it's free if I do it through a highschool) and save up enough so that either I can do it loan free, or with a minimal loan. I hate having to get a loan, but if I must, then I must. A chef's ticket would make a huge difference to my future.
I'm a little bummed, but I feel better with a plan
The thought of going back to school is a little scary for me, but I'm sure if I persevere I'll be alright.

So sorry to hear about the job, Babs. It's great that you do have a "plan B". I think it sounds like a good idea. School is expensive, but for some professions it really pays off. Good Luck, and I'll be thinking of you.

Oh, Babs. I am sorry that you are so dissappointed. I think it is great that you have a game plan and are going to continue your education. I bet it is scary to return to school, but you should not be intimidated. From the way you write, it is clear to see that you are a very intelligent woman, plus there is the added benefit that you are motivated. I am absolutely certain that you will do just fine. I firmly believe that things happen for a reason - if you had gotten that job you would have never chosen to continue your education, so maybe this is the plan for you.
Big hugs and Best of luck!

Come down here to Kentucky Babs! Cost of living is really low and we have an excellent culinary school here at Sullivan University in Louisville!
I'm sorry you didn't get the job. As far as school is concerned, I was scared to go also but found that once I started, it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought. Good luck to you!

I'm so sorry to hear that they didn't hire you. It seemed as if it was going to be a good fit. Look around. . .keep your options open and you'll be alright. Sounds like you have a great plan already.

So sorry you didn't get the job, but your backup plan is a winner. You can never go wrong when it comes to furthering your education. You can do it! My mother went back to school when she was 40, and graduated graduate school as a nurse practitioner when she was 45. I honestly believe in Winston Churchill's quote in my signature. I'm pulling for you!
