Update- childcare business
Hi! Several of you have PMed me to ask how the babysitting is going so I thought I would post and give an update.
First I discovered I qualify for a self-enployment grant through Unemployment. They offer many services such as accountants, printing facilities and a continuation of your benefits for the first 12 months of your business. Hooray -- makes it much easier to get started out!
I ran an ad in the local paper and got a couple of part time kids from it. I am watching my neighbor's kids as well. I also posted on the local hospital employees website with my ad, as well as a couple of the local telemarketing places. I am trading childcare for a pickup of my kids from school with a mom who is a good friend and just needs a couple of hours of care twice a week.
Things seem to be taking off. And the funny thing is, many of ou told me that company would call me back that I had interviewed with. Well they did and offered me more money, but it was still far less tahn I am making with the business once you subtract the childcare expenses.
Hooray! It rocks to be home with my kiddos!

I have been wondering about you myself!! So happy that you get to stay home and out of the "business"
Congratulations! This gives me hope for when I decide to have children that I have another option than working.
