Yipee, had my yearly review
Alot of things have changed at my work in the past 2 months. They let my immediate boss go, and the owner of the company has now become my immediate boss. When my boss was let go, my yearly review was due. I went to the owner and asked to put the review off for a month or two. I was not fully given credit for all the work I did with my prior boss and I wanted a fair shot at my review. Today I got a "mini" review with my full review to come in a month.
My boss invited me to lunch and I got a $7,000 raise plus an extra week of vacation. Yipee! I am so excited over the extra money. The best part is, he had alot of nice things to say. The only bad thing was that he said I need to be more assertive. I work in the construction industry around 99% men only, so sometimes it is a bit hard. I get intimidated since I don't know all the construction "specifics". I'll keep plugging away though, and hopefully work my way up a bit more.
