What would you think if this happened?
You know I applied for that job last thursday, had my first interview. They said they would set up a second interview, but it might be a week or two. Well, today I sent the HR person an email just checking on whether they were still considering me for the position, and she didn't even reply! I can't remember...she said something about going on vacation, but it seems like someone would be checking her emails, doesn't it?
My "spidey sense" is kicking in on this. I just feel like it isn't going to happen. But I'm not worried about it, because if it doesn't, it just means that the karma was wrong, and the universe has something better in store for me.

If she is out of the office, probably the only way someone could answer her e-mail would be if it was forwarded to the designated answerer. I'm not sure if this could be done in HR because of privacy issues. I wouldn't worry about it yet. If she's there, and the position is no longer open, I can't see why she wouldn't at least tell you that. But then HR policies doubtless vary in every business.

I agree. In my office, our emails are not forwarded to anyone else. I would wait a week or so for her to get back from vacation. Then you could always follow up with an old fashioned letter thanking them for their time to meet with you and to keep you in mind for any openings. Good luck!

I'd just carry on. Interview with other places and not put my life on hold. If it's going to happen with them, it will.
