Talking Wasn't sure where to put this.....

I decided I needed a part time job on top of my full time job. I am interested in selling Avon but you are considered an independant contractor (something I know nothing about) I am interested in it for the money of course and the fact that I can be at home. Anyone know anything about Avon, experiences, etc? Even if you know an at home legit job would be very helpful also.
    Thanks!

sorry i don't know anything about avon but, ive been spouting about tupperware this morning on most of my posts LOL
i ordered the kit and am hoping it will come today. i have sold tupperware before. it easy since it pretty much sells itself. you do have to buy the startup kit (i know the big one is $99 and i think the small one is $69) but you get a lot of stuff in either one.
you don't have to have parties, but parties are where the money is. i just don't have the time with working to fool with it. the lady i sell under has been making a living at this for probably over 20yrs i would say.
when i sold tupperware before i was worried about taxes (this was probably 2-3 years ago) tupperware sends you documentation of your sales for tax purposes at the end of the year. when i did mine, i took these to my tax filer and they told me as long as it was under $5000 you didn't have to worry about taxes. i hope this is still correct. anyhow just my experience.
    hope this helps.

I have a friend who sells tupperware and she's making a killing and works fulltime elsewhere. I would love to do it but here in NZ it is compulsory to do a set number of parties when you join and I'm too shy!

im a shy person too - people don't think i am cos i talk a lot but once im in front of an audience i go blank. i did actually give a party when i sold it before and didn't like it. maybe you can get your family together or some good friends and it wouldn't be so bad. just think if you can get past the first couple of parties you wouldn't have to do it anymore or maybe you never know, you might like it once you get over the beginning jitters.
i know that when i was on the site before (tupperware) they had games you can play at parties and you can also google for games. and there's also quick and easy recipes some people do for parties to highlight certain products. maybe that would be enough to take the focus off of only you speaking. or also maybe you could team up with someone else to sell or maybe just have a more outgoing friend to be your assistant to help you squeak thru any parts that are hard for you.
i hate that you would miss an opportunity of something you really want to do because of a requirement to get started.
good luck!!! i hope i helped

Thanks. I will think about it. I have always loved the products so I'm the ideal person to sell it really! I was actually with my friend when she joined but as I was about to move city I didn't want to join at that time.

frooz i got my kit yesterday and just wanted to share with you. this is the bigger kit that is $99. im real excited and went this morning and set up my online website (additional 7.95 per month but i think it's worth it as an easy anytime option for buyers to be able to use) one of my coworkers has already said she wants to buy bowls from the website so ive got this month's payment covered (they did only charge me 2.95 since the month is almost over)
