    Talking Avon

I work in an elem school and the person that sold Avon to the teachers, etc. is retiring. So, I am going to take over her Avon there. She told me it will be a great extra income. I'm pretty excited to get started. I go to training today and get my start-up kit, books, etc. Does anyone else sell Avon and how do you like it?

I sold it in the 70's when you had to walk door to door. It was awful. . lol. However, my Avon girl loves selling it. She brings the catalogs to work and lets the business come to her. Her business is growing beyond her expectations. She gets a lot of the samples to show us which helps because things look different in person than they do in print. It has really been a great thing for her. . .and I'm sure it will be for you as well. . .Good Luck on your business!!!

I don't buy Avon, but I used to, and the lady who sold to me actually worked for another representative, who gave her a percentage of what she sold. It was just a little sideline for her. She didn't want to be responsible for all the paperwork, etc.

I know a couple of ladies who made good money with Avon, and Mary Kay too.

    Good luck!

I used to sell it. I love all of their ANEW products as well as a lot of Mark products. I stopped selling b/c I was spending more than I was making. Beware of their message boards--I remember them as very nasty.

I sold Avon in the mid '90s. Unfortunately, I didn't have a really do all that well, other than getting my own Avon at a discount. At the time I was living in a mobile home community and that wasn't a good territory/sales market. Unfortunately, my family and friends weren't in the position to make a lot of purchases then either. I was working full time at the time too, and work wasn't really a good place either since it was a small company. I probably could have made a bit more of an effort, but it was my choice not to. One positive thing Avon was doing at the time was setting up the online/catalog shopping which I think was a good thing.

I hope you have good luck. If you do get set up, you can pm me and put me on your catalog/online shopping client list since I don't have an Avon rep right now.

I used to sell it years ago at work only. Taking orders was easy. Trouble was having to chase people down to pay for it. One lady waited a year before she finally paid me! That, and my own binge shopping (love Avon discounts) made me quit selling. I never made much money from it.

I sold it in the mid-'90's as well. No message boards but I'm glad I was before it.

I loved selling it, but not as much as buying it. LOL I would walk around on my streets at first but after I realized only a few were ordering I just dropped things off for them. I would leave them at my school but I didn't make a lot at it. But I wasn't putting a lot of effort into it. I just used it to make a little extra spending money if there was any left after buying what I wanted. I like a lot of their products and after I got married and moved (decided I needed to cut some things out) I still ordered. I love the toys and outfits for kids. I have to be careful about jewelry since I turn things green. But otherwise I really liked it. I miss it here in Kuwait.
