legally you do not have to tell them. It's considered discrimination to base employment on that.
Ethically, I'd tell them, but that's just me.

I agree with sunshine. They're hiring you and depending on you to be there. If you'll be taking time off, I would tell them. Again, legally you don't have to tell them.

I'm sure the cashier noticed you were pregnant, and conveyed such to the manager.

I don't think it is a matter of your being pregnant as much as it is a matter of whether you are going to need a lot of time off. If you think you can handle the job without your pregnancy and subsequent motherhood affecting it, then I don't think you need to say anything.

You've already been hired, it can't hurt. They can't fire you for being pregnant anymore than they can not hire you for being pregnant

I don't know, but I don't think you will be covered under FMLA when you have your baby because you must have worked 1,250 hours in the 12 months before your absence to qualify

I would tell them but it doesn't seem that they could then fire you so there's really nothing to worry about.
Congrats on the new job!

No, you won't be covered under FMLA but all that means is that they don't have to hold the job for you when you take time off to have your baby.
They still can't discriminate against you for being pregnant. I would tell them that you are pregnant, especially because you shouldn't be lifting heavy boxes, etc.

I wouldn't tell them.
Seriously, they called you thirty minutes afterward and offered you the job? This isn't the type of position that they're needing to fill thoughtfully and permanently, otherwise they would have given you at least an interview.
Perhaps you should look a little bit closer at the job and why they offered it to you so quickly. It may just be a random turn of events that would force them to hire (more or less) someone off the street to fill a post, but then again, they may be the type of employer that has trouble filling positions because of poor working conditions, poor pay or poor treatment of employees. It's certainly something you'd want to consider as a mom-to-be. /shrug
No, I absolutely would not tell them. They likely didn't ask you how long you were looking to work there and I doubt that Rite Aid relies on long term employees, quite honestly. When you need to leave for the birth of your baby, you're probably not going to get any benefit out of taking family leave over just quitting. If they're hiring you as a cashier or stock or some such, then they'll probably be more than happy to just let you come back when you're ready.

i agree with you nisha about there quick decision
they have never called back and i probably would have just told them in not interested anymore either. im sure the work sucks as well as the pay..if people arent coming in and they are letting cashiers hire people via the phone something isnt right
