stupid job hunt
why does it take so long to for co's to get back to u... i applied (on line of course) to 8 or 9 places..called one to day and was to 2 or 3 weeks before they got back to me.. ugh ... i need to make money...

I hear ya. Dh applied for a position in FEBRUARY!!! He was just offered it in October (turned it down because it was temporary).

I think everyone is scared they'll get sued. Many companies require that all jobs be posted for a minimum period of time (sometimes 3 months) and that ALL candidates that meet the minimum requirements be considered. That can make it overwhelming and time consuming. If you're trying to get on fast, I'd look at family owned smaller businesses, where they have the flexibility to move faster.

I was in the same boat- applying for 5-10 jobs a day for five weeks and not hearing anything back. I finally applied for a food server position with a chain restraunt. That was three weeks ago and I am just now starting to get reject letters from 8 weeks ago. What irks me is when companies don't send any acknowledgement at all that they recieved your resume, etc.
