    Default Triple Chocolate Mess

    Triple Chocolate Mess

    1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
    1 pkg. instant chocolate pudding
    4 eggs
    1 cup water
    1 pt. sour cream
    3/4 cup oil
    6 oz. chocolate chips

In a large bowl stir together the cake mix and the pudding mix. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with the water, then add the sour cream and oil and stir until smooth. Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Spray the inside of the crockpot with the non-stick spray. Pour batter into crockpot. Place a paper towel over the top of the crockpot and then cover and cook on low for 6 hours. The paper towel absorbs the moisture and keeps it from dripping back into the pot. Change it once or twice if it gets really wet. Serve the dessert warm in a bowl with ice cream or whipped cream. Makes 10 servings.

Another recipe in my email. I had never even thought of using the paper towel to stop the moisture from going back into the crock.....a yummy sounding recipe and a helpful tip

I used to make this years ago before we changed our way of eating. It was always a big hit!

northernmom2boys - I think I have a 4.5 quart crockpot and the recipe worked fine in it.

Thank you Pepper! I'm thinking of trying this the next time we have company.

I'm going to try homemade cake mix and homemade pudding mix in place of the store bought ones.
