Upcoming Birthday $$$ - What to do?
My birthday is coming soon, and my father usually give me cash, which I usually put on whichever bill is crying loudest at the time...this year however, the bills are caught up, and I am wondering what to do with the money...
I could take it and add it to my snowball, but frankly, I don't want to...
I want to treat myself to some fun...I am feeling kind of deprived lately, and this might be cure...
I've literally never had the freedom to choose before...it has gone to bills out of necessity...so I ask you, FV-ers, what would you do if you were me?

your debt repayment plan is in place. how about a nice gift to yourself, something girly? something nice for the house? a nice outfit? a tiny trip?
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Well, what is it that you *think about* when you daydream?
Is it a lunch with the ladies? A facial? Mani & Pedi? A book by your favorite author? Visiting an art museum? Zoo?
I know some people will pop in and say save, save, save... but I can understand the desire to treat yourself. Your bills are paid up.
If you don't treat yourself every once in a while, what the hell are you doing with your life besides paying for it?
LIVE a little!
I don't know how much money you are getting, but whatever it is... make it in to a memory for you.
Happy Birthday!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Buy something just for you. You deserve it and it will make your Dad happy to see you happy.
One time when I was in 5th or 6th grade my Grandpa had given me money for my birthday. And the school book order came out right after that. I got to spend my birthday money on books...I was in 7th Heaven!
Now I'm 50 years old and I still remember getting all those books with my birthday money. What a great memory.
Make a memory for yourself!!On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
