What do you get your man for X the Holidays?
I always have to 'guess' at what to give him, unless it's a video game he can never think of what he wants, and I grow weary of giving clothes! What are some gifts you have given your man, for under $75? Trying to do something 'different' here, have thought of a gift cert. for a massage, but not sure how he'd feel about that.

The truth? I usually buy something "adult" and give it to him to open the night before. It is the gift that keeps on giving the whole year through. LOL
Other than that special gift, we decided a few years ago (due to finances at the time) to only focus on buying stuff that we could put in each other's stockings. They are pretty big (I made them) so I usually get him a movie or two that I know he will love, a video game for the computer if I can find one, some candy, etc. It is fun to try to find crazy things that can fit in a stocking.

We are necessity folks, socks, underwear. I am trying to do something for the family room in the basement; tv, futon or something. I want to get moving on that. He said he wants tools. Yuck!

I get the double whammy each year as DH's Birthday is New Years Eve!
I get him something sentimental, a poem etc and then usually some electronic he has been wanting. This year I was thinking PSP games (used- he doesn't care), boxers (fun ones), lots of Hershey's kisses (his fave), and a HM coupon book.

My husband is really into woodworking and quite good at it. So I usually keep an ear open for a new tool he has been wanting or needs. It seems like for the past 5 years I've gotten him something new for his woodshop every Christmas. It serves both his want and his need.

We have been married 30 years, together 35. You can really run out of ideas after that long.
About 7-8 years ago, we decided to buy ourselves what we wanted from the other person. It works out well.______

DH is a simple man...his only hobbies are hunting and fishing. He is hard to buy for because he is so picky about his tools and hunting/fishing gear. So, I either do a Gander Mountain gift card or something I have heard him mention specifically. I found out a long time ago that trying to surprise him usually just ended up with me wasting money on something he would never use.

I'm with DJ ~ hubby is pretty simple, but IMPOSSIBLE to buy for (angrypuppy ~ care to chime in here with a few hints?).
There are tons of things that he wants that would make great gifts, but he doesn't want a "wallet", he wants this wallet. I tried to get him some fly fishing gear last year, but he knows exactly what he wants and I'm just lost at the fishing store.
DH doesn't like gift cards though (at least from me, as he finds them too impersonal). Last year I bought him chainsaw chaps. Something he needed (a safety item), but couldn't stand to spend the money on himself. I usually buy him several books or a magazine subscription that I know he'll like.
Like Jskell, I have to be careful. DH's birthday is Jan 10, so I have to make sure I leave a few of my ideas for bday....~Jessica

Truth? I give dh money. He's always saving up for this or that big ticket item, so we (me, father-in-law, my parents) just give him cash. Then, he gets whatever he wants when he has enough.
Now, to make it more cute and romantic, I usually put the cash inside a poem I've written or a really nice card I've written nice, mushy stuff in.
Yet, at the end of the day...it's cash.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I did one time buy him a Black and Decker power sander that was on sale at Lowe's. And he loved it cause it's shaped like a clothes iron to get into corners. Cha-Ching!

However, that is rare, that I can find something he will like.
We decided long ago romance is over-rated if it puts you in the poorhouse. We both got tired of buying each other luke-warm-excitement gifts. Or un-usable gifts.
He apparently thinks I should dress like a gypsy princess.
I apparently don't know 'guy stuff' from my anal region.
LOL!
So we buy something for ourselves and give our grown sons money, and it makes the rest of Christmas a whole lot simpler. And ya KNOW I love simple!!
