ok, i've seen a few mentions of ppl who have family/friends who live outside of their home country... like I do.
and we all know how expensive those packages can be!!!

Here's a quick hint:
Shipping outta the US (and some other countries), the price goes UP when the package exceeds 4 lbs

SO, by sending smaller packages - if possible - that can save money right there!
The average size box I was shipping was weighing about 6 to 8 lbs.
FOR the price of ONE 8 lb box I could ship 4 boxes weighing 4 lbs or less!!!

Some ideas of things to send "abroad"... depending on who it is...

Think of some candies/foods/cookies in YOUR country that aren't sold (or are too expensive) in other places.

If it's outside of the US, think compact.

The smaller something is OR the smaller is can be made (by folding up, etc) the better. Storage capacity, as you may know, is not what we have here in the States!

If someone has a new house/flat/apartment:
Ship lightweight kitchen towels, hotpads, bottle opener, lightweight utensils, a tablecloth, napkins, etc.

Think simple AND think lightweight!

Babies make shipping easy... lotsa itty bitties for a little box.

Send bags of coffee, teas, box of individual creamer packets... lightweight, not bulky (like canisters & tins).

And there's always homemade fair... cookies, breads, muffins are great.
Fudge MAY melt!

What are YOUR ideas?
