The best way to wrap oddly-shaped presents?
I really really stink at wrapping presents. It's not as bad as it used to be. However, it could be better.
It's those odd-shaped presents that I either a) don't have a secondary box big enough for or b) doesn't come in a box at all. I had trouble with at least half of the presents I had to wrap just now for DS' party at 6.
Any tips? I did manage to get to where I'm cutting down on wasting paper!

Decorating a paper grocery bag is a nice frugal and easy way to wrap larger or odd shaped gifts.

I take the easy way out and put it in a gift bag. It may be a little more expensive, but then I can re-use the bag.

I have take cardboard and cut a circle out a little bigger than the base of the item, then set the cardboard circle in the center of the wrapping paper, set the item on the circle, then just draw the paper up around it and tie it off at the top with either ribbon or a nice piece of jute. It probably uses up more wrapping paper that way, but it is fast and looks kind of like a gift basket when you're done.

Ditto on the gift bag. I usually stock up on extra boxes during the clearance sales just for this purpose! My brother gets around his inability to wrap odd items by using plain 'ol tinfoil. Works like a charm & quite the conversation piece I might add!
