Picture albums. 'This may sound silly, but a small picture album for each one might work. We have 2 sons and even our sons like having their very own picture album. You can start it off with a couple of pictures of your family or of the person to whom you are giving it. You can even personalize it with paint pens or markers.
One year I gave a baseball card album to my nephew with a packet of baseball cards...this could work for any sport. I gave one of my nieces a diary with McDonald's gift certificates inside.
This year I'm going to buy inexpensive collage picture frames from Walmart and give pictures of my family. Everyone is always asking for pictures of us, but I'm so bad about taking them and never printing them. I think they'll be a hit!
Just some ideas.

How about a DVD for each one...I picked up new ones at the Pawn Shop here for $1.99 a piece, buy a box of micro popcorn, some licorice, a liter of soda...it's good for all of them!

I like all of the above ideas; I am in the same boat as I am due with baby #3 on January 2nd! Our families are big (I'm the oldest of 7; DH is the oldest of 4) and spread out; it gets harder every year!
We do the gift cards ($20), or nice photo gifts with pictures of our kids, and I love the themed basket idea!

"So I need gift idead for 17yr old girl,11 yr old girl and 9 yr old boy"
17 and 11 yr old girl - HM bath salts
Mix Epsom salts w/ essential oil and a tiny bit of food coloring
Put in cute jars or canning jars if you have those.
- Buy Composition Books and Mod Podge the covers with whatever they are interested in. Finish with a cool book mark. And a cool pen for a journal gift pack.
9 year old boy- Make a "treasure box". Get an unfinished wooden box and put small trinkets inside. You can leave it unfinished or paint it. Write "My Treasures" on top. My son has one and keeps some weird stuff inside!

Last year for my Best Friends Son who was turning 9 i gave him a disposable digital camera (on sale) and a photo album. This year i am giving him one of those coloring books that has more older kids designs (ac moore) with colored pencils. This cost me under $10.00 This could also work for girls.

Make pedicure kits for the girls with some inexpensive nail polishes in fun colors, foot lotion, those toe separators, and emery boards. I see this stuff all the time @ Dollar Tree, so it would definitely be affordable.
For the 9 y/o boy -- marshmallow gun! Put together a little combat kit with homemade targets and little army men or plastic animals to shoot down (also from Dollar Tree).
Here's the marshmallow gun how-to:
