Christmas Eve for Kids
I have started giving the little kids in our family a Christmas Eve gift. It fast, easy and very frugal and they really love it.
Its Magic Reindeer Food. I can't take credit for the idea, its one I found in a number of places on the web, but they really do have fun doing it.
You need, a small plastic bag,
1/8 of a cup of oatmeal,
and some glitter. I use about 2 to 3 teaspoons.
Put the glitter and the oatmeal in the bag and mix well so the glitter is mixed with the dry oatmeal. Seal the baggie and attach a card that reads:
On Christmas Eve sprinkle this magic reindeer food on your lawn.
The magic sparkle in the moonlight and the smell of oats will guide
Rudolph and all of Santa's reindeer to your home on Christmas night!
The kids love this, and they really enjoy having something "special" to do on Christmas Eve.

That is really sweet. I will try that with my children this year. They usually put out pieces of carrots.

We have done that for years and it is so so much fun for the kids!! I swear, my 7 year old boy gets up each Christmas morning and pass' right by Santa's cookie plate, right past the presents and out the door to the reindeer's "landing pad" He sets it up each year!!!
So, after the kids have gone to bed, the best I can do, hubby and I walk the horses around the "landing pad" area with our slippers on!!!
And he comes in screaming every Christmas morning that "The reindeer came, the reindeer came!!!"Proud wife to Randy
