Smile Help me with Christmas gifts!

It's going to be a tight christmas for us this year (as for a lot of people I suppose), but I have NO idea what to get for my fiance's side of the family (includes sister, brother in law, mother and not even two year old nephew).

I was thinking of doing bath stuff for his sister & mom (eyelipsface.com has pretty cheap baskets for like $15 each), but no idea what to get for her husband. I was kind of thinking about a restaurant gift card for the two of them from restaurant.com (place where you can buy a $20 card for less).

If you were them, would you be happy about those gifts? I've been with Mac for 3 years and still don't feel 100% welcomed into the family and that's why I'm stressing out about it (even though his sister said they love me and love having me, I'm still not confident I guess)

    Thanks for all the help

I would be totally happy with those gifts! I'm kind of in the same boat with you but keep telling myself I'm not making/giving these gifts just because...I'm giving/making them for them because I want to. Did that make sense?!?!?

Have you looked at the dollar tree? They usually have lotions and shower stuff for $1 each. Also, the dollar spot at Target has some yummy smelling stuff that would be great in a basket.

I think your gift ideas sound really nice.

I think I have this all figured out (I think, I haven't hit the checkout button yet lol). For his mom, sister & my step mother I'm getting them a bath kit from eyeslipsface.com. Normally $15 each, but found 2 discount codes that brings it down to $32 + $6 for shipping and handling (so I saved $7!). For Lou (Macs brother in law) we might do a gift card to Lowe's/Home depot (they just moved into a house last year). I'm also planning on doing little tins of cookies. I'll probably check out Walmart/Target and make sure I can't get the bath stuff cheaper before I buy.

By any chance do you have any essential oils on hand? You could make up some bath salts using epsom salt if you do for the gift baskets. And I think I just gave myself an idea to add to the soap I'm giving out!

I made these last year and they were such a hit! I put them in little jelly jars I had and put a little fabric on the lid. I wrapped ribbon around it, too. My DS and I had a ball making them too!

I don't have any jelly jars on hand, but I'm sure I can come up with something! Believe it or not, both my husband and my son are excited about making things for everyone for christmas this year (we have never done this) and I honestly think everyone will like making up some bath salts; getting to choose their scents and all!

I get that way every single year. I have no idea what to get anyone because I rarely see them and MIL/FIL/SIL usually can afford the things they want, so they buy things all the time and I never know if they have it already.

I did ask for people to send me messages with what they want, but no one responded. I know we're doing at least two Chinese gift exchange gifts and we have those already. I'm just not sure what everyone else likes. I'm thinking of maybe something from Gooseberry Patch for MIL, something Squash related for BIL (he likes to play it), a fancy tool thing for FIL (because he's retired) and maybe some books or a gift certificate and some spa treatment stuff for SIL.

So I figured it out. I got my step mom a bunch of reed diffusers, some body wash and lotions and a candle and put them in a christmassy basket with shred to line it and cute little x-mas decorations through out it. Eventually I'll buy cellophane wrap and put it together with ribbons. Macs mom & sister will also get bath stuff (His mom I cheated for and bought a ready made basket lol) from Kohls (I got everything on sale +30% off & free s&h). Still have no idea what to get her husband lol

Your 1st sentence says..."tight here".. Well, if it's tight..why are we all spending? Announce now...we're not spending for xmas this year, but I'm bringing a delicious dessert for all of us to enjoy. And I hope all of you will keep your money and not spend for us. Thank you. Would that not work? and I betcha a few others might join in and be thankful you started it. Folks, if you don't have it, don't do it.
