    Default Ooooh! Kohl's sale got a lot of our shopping finished.

    **** Disclaimer: I pay off cc's as soon as I get the bill. And I've been setting gift money aside all year. *****

    I have teen daughters. The teen daughters have friends. I have a mother-in-law. DH has a wife. (That's me!)

    And, wow! Did we ever shop the jewelry sale at Kohl's!

    I got a Kohl's card about 2 months ago, on the advice of a friend. She said that Kohl's sends coupons in the mail, and she got some fantastic deals.

    Kohl's had sent me a coupon -- 30% off all purchases. There were all kinds of Veteran's Day sales too.

    While the kids shopped for clothes, DH and I looked at the jewelry counter.

    We ended up spending a LOT of my Christmas budget. And a good part of the 2009 birthday budget! But we got very nice gifts. Here's an example:

    DH will be giving me blue topaz earrings.
    Original cost $250.
    Veteran's Day Sale price: $99.
    30% discount - $30.
    So, $70 for a really lovely pair of earrings.

    We found nice jewelry marked 75% off -- For example, a necklace for DD ... originally $150, was marked down to about $35. It ended up costing us $25 after my 30% off. [At that clearance counter, we picked out 7 items!]

    Overall, we got
    • Christmas earrings for me from DH.
    • Christmas earrings for DD#1 from DH and me.
    • 10 kt Christmas necklace for DD#2 from me and DH.
    • 10 kt Christmas necklace for DD#1 from Santa.
    • Hello Kitty watch for DD#1 from Santa.
    • 'Secret sister' silver earrings from DD#1 for her girl scout Christmas party.
    • Birthday earrings from DH to me.
    • Birthday earrings for DD#1.
    • Birthday necklace for DD#2.
    • Another birthday necklace for DD#2.
    • Mothers' Day necklace for mil from DH.
    • Mothers' Day earrings for me from DH.


    Man! Am I jazzed!

    Sounds like pretty fantastic deals even though the original prices are always inflated. Wtg! Feels good to be almost done with the shopping doesn't it?

    I went to kohls.com the other night and got $90 worth of stuff for $48 after discounts & 30% off & free shipping/handling. I was able to get gifts for my future mother in law/sister in law and part of my dads gift

    We drove acrsoos the border yesterday togo to the Kohl's sale and got most of our shopping done too. I jsut need to hit Costco and I am FINISHED. We spent $350 and got mine and the kids shopping done:

    Girls got
    gifts for each other
    gifts for teachers
    gift for granny
    gift for grandpa
    gift for dad
    gift for mom
    gift for dads girlfriend
    gift for best friends

    I got:
    a tinkerbell watch with numbers for DD8
    Sterling silver letter necklace for DD13
    Silver earrings for both girls
    Clothes for DD13 (promptly wrapped and put under tree)
    Snowsuit and boots for DD8
    A new shirt for me (I know, I know)
    Some Christmas ornaments
