    Default Are you kidding me?

Some of you might remember my MIL came for an extended stay this summer. Well she's Back..... for Christmas. Oh joy you would think the 6 weeks last time was enough.
    Anybody else expecting guests?

Nope, they all already made their visits when the baby was born.

Six weeks is such a looooong time to have a guest. Best of luck to you. I'd be pulling my hair out by day 5.

Holy Cow!! I would be on a suicide watch if my MIL showed up for 6 weeks. She came uninvited this summer for "a few days" that turned into 2 weeks. That was THE longest 2 weeks of DH and my lives.

Hugs to you and I will admit I wore ear plugs sometimes. Just keep your hair down to cover them.

Egads again it seems like she just left!? Hopefully she won't stick around as long as last time. And this time should she stay past her welcome make sure she knows up front she is to be helping with the grocery bill.

I feel for you. Remember to breathe in and out....lol.

We never know if my brother and their families are coming in for the holidays or not --- until right before they show. I actually figure at least one of them will show between Christmas and New Years.

DH & I will be the guests at DS's for Thanksgiving. We have stayed before, and I know he gets a little tired of me... I have joked my kids for years that I am going to come for extended visits & leave wet towels on the antique furniture & the hardwood floors, in addition to wiping my shoes on the nice dish towels.. Actually my list is quite long, but I can't give out all my secrets!

Hang in there, MIL will go sooner or later. Maybe you are too good of a hostess!

I'm thinking of being a lousy host this time. Maybe I won't pay the water bill and she will want to go after a few day of no water.

Have the two of you considered just saying no? If I remember right, it seems like she caused you lots of problems during the summer. Just say "We'd love to see you! Do you want to book the hotel yourself or would you like me to help you out?"

Nope. Sometimes I'm glad I live halfway across the world from relatives LOL! You must have patience by the dump truck full! We had DH's mom stay with us for 3 weeks and I was ready to move into a hotel after the first week!

We're actually the visitors again this year. It's like that every year because the house is just too small to do holidays with more than four people. I imagine if we had a bigger house, it wouldn't be so bad and if my inlaws lived closer, it'd be nice. If this was my first marriage, I'd feel the same way you do about your MIL. (Mine was so snooty and uptight, acted like I wasn't good enough for her son.)

Let's hope the holidays aren't too painful with her around.
