Need ideas-gift for 13yo and up for toys for tots

I was reading the toys for tots website for my state and they are having a hard time this year. They need toys for 55,000 kids that are signed up but donations are down by half. They mostly need items for kids 13 and up and babies. So I want to give a donation for a baby gift and an older child gift.

I can figure out what to get a baby but what can you get for a kid 13 and up that doesnt revolve around a video game system, ipod, or cell phone.(thats all the older kids I know seem to want...) Any ideas on a really cool gift that is in a $10-$15 price range? Thanks!

Here some ideas that I have used:
For both boys and Girls:
Card Games such as Skip-Bo or Phase 10
Board Games such as Cranium or Trivia Pursuit
Books

For Girls:
Make-up kits
Purses or hand bags
Gift baskets with good smelling lotion or perfumes

For Boys:
Hand held video games
Sports Equipment

That is all that I can think of right now. Teens can be a really hard group to buy for, but need gifts just like the younger ones. Thank you for thinking about them.

20 Q is an awesome hand held game that costs less than 10$ at Target. My teenagers love it, we pass it around the room over and over again.

Jewelry making kits would be cool for girls.
