    Default Had to share this...

    www.outrageouschristmaslights.com

This guy lives on the other side of our block and he goes all out for Christmas. It is so fun watching him put up his lights starting in October and then turn them on after Thanksgiving!

They are synched to music on the radio, that as far as we can tell is actually broadcast from his house, becuase there is only about a 500 foot range that you can get the station from his house! It really is neat.

The kids and I drove by last night, so I thought I would share the site for everyone to see!

    Oh how funny!

I love it when people go crazy with their Christmas lights and decorations! We only decorate our tree, put up a few knick knacks and hang some tinsel and Christmas cards we have received in the past around our kitchen archway. However, we always make a point to drive around, as a family, and look at other people's lights and decorations. It's a family tradition.

Thank you so much for sharing!

By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like Reese Witherspoon?

I think he might be related to the Griswolds . I love the over the top decorating. It is so fun to see the enthusiasm that some people bring to their holiday decorating.

People usually tell me I look like Jodie Foster...which I totally don't see! But I think Reese Witherspoon is cute as heck, so I'll take the compliment!

Teehee, it did remind me of Clark Griswold. Christmas vacation.

    It's very pretty.

What ever happened to the spirit of Christmas and tasteful decorations? It's gross. All that light pollution does no good for anyone.

I remember a house in Scranton, PA that you could drive past that would put that house to shame. It gets really bad every year because people back up the traffic to drive through the alley to see the house. It's cute when you're a kid; it's just outright tacky and overdone when you're an adult.

I understand if people do it to show their Christmas spirit, but there's just so many more ways that you can decorate to show that spirit and not be an eyesore in the entire town for it.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTn-jIvBquc"]YouTube- Felix Family Lights using Light rama, Coke Song[/ame]

here's the link to the family in our area that does his lights each year...this video is last years light show. the good thing is that they live in a cul-de-sac, so we can park for a few and watch... and it's safer than being on a main road...

They also collect money for Relay for Life (cancer research) in a box by the street, you can't tell from this video, but the lights are also in the side yard....

I'm going to take the kids by this weekend (probably friday) to see this years lights - they seem to get bigger & better.

I do love when houses are done up outside for Christmas. I just don't like when they are overdone.

My fondest memory as a child was growing there was a neighborhood in the next town over from us that every house wad one up. It was beautiful. People would come from all over to see these. There was one house in particular that the electric company would pay the light bill for the month of December. He died and his wife wasn't going to put up the decorations one year but volenteers came in and put them up.
I am not sure if they still do it anymore. It was funny because I was talking to someone at my work and they went to the same light display growing up.
