Default Best Christmas Gift of the Season!!!!!!

Some of you might remember that my Dad found out about a year ago that he had prostrate cancer. It was in stage 9, which is just about the end. The doctor said it didn't look good. Dad had a choice of radiation or doing nothing. He chose radiation.

I spent a large part of my summer with him, taking him to treatments. He tolerated them fairly well, and kept a great sense of humor about what was happening to him.

He went to the doctor last week for a check up, and we received the best Christmas present of the season: the cancer has receded and is causing very little problem now, and his PSA test was normal!!!! He will always have this cancer, but it's not killing him now. Praise God!!!!!!!!

Oh my, that is fantastic. You must be just over the moon with relief.

So, his cancer is going to be chronic at this point and not acute. He will still need to continue treatment though right?

In answer to Dad needing continued treatments: He needs to continue taking the twice a year hormone shots. But no more radiation is needed at this time. Thank you for your wonderful responses!!
