    Default Christmas Gift Wrapping

Fabric Wrappers are something that I am big into this year.
    People are calling them "fraps"
Lots of different ways to do them.
I am looking for other wrapping ideas or more instructions on how to make them.

Those are on my list for next year! I read about them on the FV homepage the other day and thought....I gotta do that!

This year, I am paper macheing boxes, decorating the out side, and then filling them with gifts for different family members. That way when they need to pack it up and leave, they will have a box with a lid and it will be decorative when they get home.

I have a bunch of fabric lying around that I will never do anything else with: not enough or the wrong type for clothing, that sort of thing.

I'm making gift bags but without a drawstring. I'll do the pillowcase style bag, but work a length of ribbon, folded in half, into the side seam. Put the gift in the bag, bring the ribbon around the top, tie it shut. Easy peasy. I'd love to see websites that have other ideas for making reusable fabric wrappers.

In the past I have done food baskets wrapped in a tablecloth, candles wrapped in a tablerunner, and movies and popcorn for my mil wrapped in a throw blanket.

Here's some simple fabric wraps. Wish I'd thought of that this year..lol. But that said, i'm finishing off the rolls of paper I'd bought for 70¢/5pack 12 years ago. So it's nice to be done with that. But definitely putting this in my things to use next year! I have plenty of fabrics that I won't use, so I think I'll set it aside for wrapping next year. Good to have a use for it, and it won't cost me anything more next year.

Plain brown paper or butchers paper, some red or green paint. Cookie cutters dipped in the paint and "stamped" on the paper. Let it dry and use as regular wrapping paper. This also works good for those "paper sack" type grocery sacks. I also use hair bows on the girls packages instead of bows. They love that added little bit and you can get hair bows at the dollar store. I have also used the funny papers for the local newspapers.
It works well. Shoe boxes covered in material or scrapbooking paper makes wonderful gift boxes..... A "glove type" hot pad works for bread sticks and cookes, or kitchen goodies like wooden spoons. Color saran wrap works great for cookie plates.
