Gifts for extended family??
Hello everyone. I have a pretty big question and I'm at a loss. I need gift ideas (preferably homemade or semi-home made to cut down on spending) for my boyfriend's extended family. We never see his family and I really don't know each of them well enough to go and buy them a very personal gift. I'm afraid we're going to go out and spend a lot of money and then regret it later. He has the following people to buy for...
Two Aunts
One Uncle
3 Male adult Cousins
1 Female adult cousin
2 young male cousins ( one is 9 and the other is 3)
The kids will be easy but as for his uncles, aunts and adult cousins i don't know what to do. Can anyone out there help?Last edited by Rhayne; 12-13-2008 at 12:34 PM. Reason: Spelling mistake lol

What about doing a themed basket? Like the fixings for a romantic Italian dinner for two with a coupon for baby-sitting or arrangements for the kids to be gone for the night?
You could do a movie themed basket too, with a 10$ blockbuster card, some popcorn, candies, pop, etc.McD

I was thinking the basket idea also. For the ones that live close maybe some homemade cookies or maybe put the items for the recipe in a basket with the recipe. Or for the 3 cousins maybe an offer of a homecooked meal, the Uncle maybe an offer to clean his house, just thinking of reasonable things to offer.
When dh and I were in an auto accident, we literally had no extra money for christmas. So we gave each of the adult kids an offer of watching the grandchildren for the night, a homecooked meal etc. They really enjoyed that. The grandkids we did crafts with.
One of my friends makes these beautiful Angels that she gives out to friends, Aunts, Uncles etc, and every year they are different. I can't wait to get one this year.
My other friend gave me items to bake her Almond butter cookies with the recipe and I loved it.
I hope that helps.Maggi
