    Question Anyone make gingerbread houses?

I have never even tried to make one, but saw some recipes on Better Homes and Gardens.

Yes I make one every year for the kids and have done so forever it seems.

Funny you ask this. When my dad was 70, my parents made them and they had so much fun. The walls would fall down, or something wouldn't work, and my mom would phone me laughing so hard she could hardly talk, telling me about these adventures they were having in making gingerbread houses. After the first couple of tries, they got really good at it and donated a couple to be raffled off for raising money for their seniors complex.

It always reminds me that no matter what age you are, if you've never made one and think you can't, you can. At times the walls will fall down but you only have to put more icing on. It all works out in the end and the kids (and adults) love them!!

Sara, are you going to try it?

I think I am just too lazy to try anything so complicated.

They are so pretty... but then what do you do with them?

I do BUT I cheat.. I have the pampered chef house hold so all I have to do after I bake the pieces is put them together and decorate I don't do the hard work of trying to get the pieces right..
We don't eat them I don't like gingerbread....but they are edible...
