    Talking Christmas Wish Lists

Have you started your wish list of things for others to give you?

What do you have on it?
    What do you really want?
Do you think you'll get it?

With all the economic stress, have you pared down your list as compared to last year?
What changes have you made, if any from last year?

    LOL
    Yep, I'm getting started early.
This year, I'm not asking for much.
Just a broom, some nice soaps and giftcards for those who dunno what to get me.

Haven't given this a thought until you asked.

Cannot think of a thing that I want. But shall give this some serious thought over the next few weeks!!

I keep a list with Amazon.com, it's mostly books and music, but there are some other things on it too. I point family and friends to it if they ask.

I've already picked up some small things for friends, and plan to start looking for DH later this week when he is at work.

I have. My family does something every year to ensure that we don't overspend. In July we pick names. Whoever's name we get we can spend about $50. Everyone else is $10 or less (little trinkets, candies, etc.). I've already gotten some things purchased (got 3 bamboo bookmarks for the readers in the family for $10 and a decorative wine stoppers for the wine couple). Still have to figure out what to get the g/f and her family.

I have not really thought much about it because I don't really plan for Christmas until like December 1st. lol

It would be nice if I could get a bread maker this year.

I think that is a terrific idea Linus. I know a couple other families that do that and they all love it. Sure saves the $......and the headache.

My birthday was last Friday and I seriously couldn't think of a thing I wanted except for one of those battery operated ipod things so I can listen to my music and podcasts while sitting at the computer or at work. It was $8.00 and I LOVE it. lol.

As for Christmas, I'm in the same boat. I can't think of anything I want or really need. Maybe a new pair of warm slippers.

and my letter to Santa is going out TODAY!!!
    LOLOL!!
    Too funny...

I have trouble every year trying to think of gifts for me.
I get picked on/teased for my practical wants... pots & pans last year, the year before new cookies sheets & wooden spoons!
    LOL

The few "frilly" things I ask for that others can buy for me are things like nail polish, smell good soaps, or things like that.
Things I wouldn't by for myself, but enjoy when someone else does.

I'm _always_ trying to find consumable products for me, as I dont too much enjoy knicknacks (sp?) or whatever.

    What about a magazine subscription?
When you're done w/it you can recycle them or donate them to local schools for their art classes (what i do).

Or GC are always an easy gift.

But think of little things you may need a new one of...
belts, hose, socks, robe, nightgown, pretty dress your dh would like to see you in, something for summer... say beach gear or swimsuit or patio furniture or whatever. LoL

I'm *still* thinking of what would be useful for around my house. I already got a ton of storage over the summer when we fixed up the house, so there's really not much else I could want.

I like ideas tho... keep 'em coming!!

We picked names last year because of the economy; not only was it less expensive also less stressful trying to find just the right gift for so many people. Only thing I didn't like was I got my son's new gf name and I hardly knew her. I did miss buying for my sons.
