Embarrasing to say - because that's how it was done before - but it's true!! I am open to any ideas. IMO it makes sense to have someone coordinate the exchange - seems that there are always glitches of some sort. I wonder if it was done initially to insure that everyone who actively participates gets a set of ornaments.

Any other ideas or memories of why? Open discussion all.

I certainly don't mind doing this and conversely it's okay if we want to try another way too.

    Good question Pam!!

I understand why they would all be sent to you MM. It would be nice to receive one large package with all the ornaments in them instead of all the little packages that might get lost. Also If for example, there are 20 people signed up that is 20 packages mailed out compared to one. You will be one busy lady though, repackaging everything and getting them off. You are very generous to take the time to do all this for us.

I am very excited about it and I think it will work out well. I am sure no one would mind chipping in for postage rather than having to send out say 20 packages themselves.

I am so excited about this MM!!! and I have found some pretty cool patterns I want to try...now just to decide which one....hmmmmm..

With all the dancing around that you are doing DC, does this mean your back is feeling better?

Mahalo for your words - if we have a lot of participants, I was thinking that perhaps we should move the deadline up a few days to allow a little more time for packaging - it is definitely not going to be done overnight!!

So far we have 12 participants!!

I imagine one reason for the way it is set up is to prevent someone from signing up, then not sending out their ornaments. Not that anyone would do that deliberately, but things do come up and not everyone is good about either anticipating or reporting such problems.

Then you'd have one individual getting "x" number of ornaments, but not contributing anything, which is a little unfair. This way, if one person doesn't send in her (or his -thanks, fixer, for jumping in, so I can use that pronoun once in a while!) contribution, MM gets the benefit of all those extra ornaments that everyone else sent in for all her hard work!!

This is the site I have been looking at and I am sure there is a knitting section as well. These are all crochet ones.

MH - erase!! erase!! erase!! Oh the temptations of life!! It really is hard. Today I have home still recovering from the drugs more than anything - and have a specific list of things I must get done - and yet here I am sneaking back to FV. Now that I've confessed, must get back to the LIST!!

    I have a question.
Do all the ornament have to be the same or can they just all be similar?
I think that I am going to use thread crochet to make mine. I have found a few different patterns that I like. Could I choose a couple different patterns? I am not sure that I could make 20 of the same item without getting very tired of it. Of course, if that is the rule I will comply.
I just thought I would ask.

My preference would be to be given some latitude in the ornaments and not have to make a dozen identical ones. I am happy to label them with each user's name, if MM doesn't want to have to pick who gets which one.
