Fake or real?
Christmas tree that is. Scooby's post got me wondering. Ours is fake for several reasons.
1. Allergies
2. Real one is too much of a fire hazard in a mobile home
3. I don't know of any real white trees
Ours is a 7 ft. white tree. I love white trees. All of the decorations are royal blue, lt. blue, and silver. The skirt is a royal blue and the angel is dressed in royal blue. It is sooo pretty when the decorating is done. I can't wait to have a real house and room to put it up again.

We always go real as i said on the other post.
but
if you go real can I encourage people to plant trees to offset. My DS planted 1000 seedlings for a friends Eagle Scout project last year. I hope we can go out this year and do it as a family. Make a picnic of it. It could be fun. Contact parks and recs. They can direct you.

Fake here. I used to have allergies to the real tree, but outgrew them. However, the cost of a real one stuns me, so I keep using the fake one.

We've had a fake since we moved here. We couldn't figure out where to buy the real ones that first year. Ours looks really fake, but it is so much less hassle than the real one.
Christmas trees are a huge industry back home, we'll probably switch again when we move back.

Nothing but real! We cut down our own tree every year. It is family tradition.
Nothing like it!

Real..love the smell and everything about it! We never had a real tree when I was a kid, my mom said it was a fire hazard. DH's family always had a real tree. A few years ago I found a fake one on clearance, used it one year....it just wasn't the same.

Fake. Allergies and I hate taking down ornaments from a "crispy" tree.
Our kids were devastated when we bought a fake tree so we started a tradition of a real wreath to hang on the door. Not as much of a fire hazard.Carrie, ravenmaniac - I love my Ravens!!!!

We will have a real tree now that we have moved back to the Pacific Northwest. Last really we got a nice tree for about $10.
We did use a fake tree when we lived in Iowa. The real ones were just too expensive. I still have our fake tree, but I don't plan on using it. I love the look and of a fresh tree.Julie

With men reading this, you simply must be more descriptive in your thread titles.

Since we live in the Pacific Northwest, and we don't suffer from allergies, it would be silly for us to NOT have a real tree.. I have several small trees that are sprinkled throughout the house, but the main one is real all the way. I love the smell, and the way it looks. I usually comes down soon after Christmas because of how dry it becomes, but I don't think I would change the way we have real trees. Some times we even go up into the forest and get a "real" tree from the woods... LOL.. My kids love it. We try to incorporate a snow day with it, so in a sense we "kill two birds with one stone"...
For a white tree, we usually get ours flocked, or once we even flocked it ourselves.. I didn't know it, but the flocking stuff they use is a kind of presevative and is fire retartent (most of the time)... I have been told that you can reuse a flocked tree if you really needed or wanted to....Bonnie mom to
