Great Christmas Craft idea
This is a picture from the Newport News Holiday collection.
Now how many crafty people out there could make this with a pair of small needle nose pliers and some junk jewelry from the dress up box, or a thrift store? Add a bow made of silk ribbon in a color you know the recipient likes, and Voila!
Something NICE to craft for Christmas for under $5.Last edited by Thevail; 11-14-2009 at 12:53 AM.

Probably! I have a lot of over the top jewelry from Halloween costumes, being in the SCA, belly dancing costumes I've made, and assorted dubious gifts from relatives with odd taste.
(Or maybe they're odd relatives who think I have dubious taste.)
A pack of 20 jump rings (what you connect two chains with) from the local bead shop is about $2. I also have some left over silk ribbons from making hair bands this spring.
So the cost would essentially be nothing.

here's another example that's a little more wearable
Here's another one! These type of necklaces would seem to be all the rage. I love recession fashions!

I sell the bits and pieces for that in my bead shop. Even brand new, not including the ribbon (I don't carry ribbon) the cost would still be dirt cheap - about $6 for beads, findings and chain. Great idea!
