Handmade/Homemade Gifts for Teens
This seems to be a big issue not just for me, but for many people I've spoken with over the past couple weeks.
What can I make my teen for the holidays?
Truly it depends on the teen, their interests, preferences, hobbies and whatnot.
But what are some generic, teen approved, gifts?
I've made pillows, blankets, scarves/hats, sewn clothing, made jewelry or hair accessories for girls, electronic covers/cozies.
I've found food is an excellent gift to give. What is their favorite cookie or candy? Can you make it? Just wrap it & place in the fridge and hang a note from the tree. That's what I've done.
What ideas do you have for teens (13-18-ish)?

I'm making sewing kits for my two nieces - they just took up sewwing this summer. For the one who likes to cook - her own potholders and apron.
Looking forward to seeing more ideas too!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I do the books in 3 ring binders (clear fronts that you can put pictures in - I made each one a personalized front).
That way, I can add to the books each year.

I'm making DD14 a cookbook with some family recipes - I am using a funky 3 ring binder for it so we can keep adding recipes. I am doing the recipes scrapbook fashion, some with photos and others just collaged on cool paper. She loves to cook.

What about bath salts & lotions or scented candles for girls.
or even cooler candles for guys - perhaps a theme (with colored wax)... like a soccer ball, or football.
Or for the very creative, skulls or flowers or some hobby/interest on the candles.
Incense too for those who enjoy it.
Sticks are easy to buy - but the cones you can make!

For a girl, throw together a little pampering set. Teens get very stressed out too, sometimes we forget this, and they would love to just relax & block out the day sometimes too!

Working on:
Get under 200 lbs. 44/47lbs

DD 16 loves scented candles and soaps. I'll probably make them for her cousins this year.

Jenibelle - or anyone else for that matter -
what kind of pampering gift set would you make for a teen boy?
I think that giving a teen a de-stresser gift is a wonderful idea!

What about a messenger bag? You can make it out of any fabric and embellish it however you like, paint or embroidery. I think it would be great out of denim for a guy or gal. I am going to make one for myself out of some really cool upholstery fabric on got out of the remnant bin (not til after the first of the year).
Here is a link for one, but you can search on line, there are quite a few free patterns.
