When I fix Christmas dinner, I make ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans/broccoli, rolls, and cheese cake for dessert.
My mom makes either ham or turkey.
My DH grew up having prime rib or roast beef and yorkshire pudding.Julie

Growing up in the U.S., we had ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie.
Now that I live in the UK, we have turkey and roast beef, yorkshire pudding, stuffing, brussels sprouts and trifle. I still incorporate some aspects of my U.S. upbringing by also making ham and pecan pie (my husband's family won't eat pumpkin pie).To Keep Me On The Straight And Narrow!

When we had our family-and-friends holiday kickoff dinner, we had prime rib, smoked pork loin, and smoked brisket. To fit the prime rib in the roasting pan, I had to cut an end off. On Christmas day, we (just DH and I) will have that end, with Yorkshire pudding and maybe I'll "fancy up" a vegetable. Apple pie for dessert.

One Christmas eve we will order out for Chinese food, which is a new tradition that started about 5 yrs ago when DH's dad was in hospice care. We were all together watching over him on Christmas eve and we needed to eat so we ordered in. It's become a "thing" now. On Chirstmas day we will have more of a buffet type luncheon than a big sit down dinner. We'll have finger rolls, maybe meatballs or wings, veggies, pasta salad, dips etc...that way we can munch anytime we want! And of course, cookies, coffee and hot cocoa.

We are having a ham and a prime rib, potatoes, garlic green beans, cinnamon pears, one other veggie as yet to be decided, hm dinner rolls, and a dessert ~ one homemade and the sugar free apple pie from Cracker Barrel.
