Question Do you save Christmas ornaments for your kids?

Each year, both with our older kids and now with our younger ones, we have had them pick an ornament off the tree and have a special box for each of them.

When our older ones left home, they had a box full of Christmas ornaments that they use to this day.

    How about you?

I keep the ornaments all together for now, but I have so many Hallmark ones that I will be able to give quite a few to ds when he is old enough to go out on his own.

I buy one for each of them every year and stick it away. When they leave home they will have enough to decorate their first tree.

I buy one every year for the kids as a gift. We put it on our tree now, but they will be able to take all of them when they move out

My eldest Dd God mother started giving her ornaments every year for Christmas, so she has 8 very nice ones. The other two have recieved a few special ornaments from sunday school teachers.

My God Mother gave me a china teacup (royal albert month collection) from when I was 12 to 17, I still have them and love them.

I have been buying them each an ornament a year which reflects something they are doing (like ballet) or they like (Dora). I also was buying them each a piece for the nativity set I started for each when they were born. When they leave home they will have plenty of ornaments and a nice nativity set apiece.

Every year we let the kids chose a special ornament and we hang them on the tree. When they do leave home, they'll each have a set of their own. They've already picked this year.. they chose Spongebob (DS) and Disney Princess (DD).

I buy each child an ornament each year that reflects their personlities, likes, etc. They hang on our tree for now (at Christmastime), then when the children move out on their own, they'll take their ornaments too.

We seem to grow ornaments like grass around here. I have so many they no longer all fit on the tree. We have a set that dh's grandmother made and several others that have been bought for just the kids over the years. When they move out we will start splitting them up between the two of them.

We always buy one each year for the kids. It's been a tradition in my husband's family to do this every year. We also have ornaments on our tree (that were passed down to us, when my husbands grandmother passed away) that are over a 100 years old. I hope to pass them onto my children when they leave the nest.
