Default Who hasn't done a darn thing for Christmas?

That's right! Nothing, nada! I don't make it difficult, told my family years ago to stop the insanity and my husband's side too.

Trust me, my kids are the most important every year and they come first. I never shop ahead, no matter a deal(I'd just give them the gift in May or June) So what's the point?

I usually shop in Nov/Dec when the malls are decorated and the street lights and neighborhoods! A frosty mug beer, snow... That's what I love! Shopping in season.

Anyone like me? For some reason I doubt it.

If I did that I'd have 3 gifts under the tree and nothing else!

I can imagine it would be kind of fun to experience the holiday in one fell swoop. I'm sure you're not alone

Yeah, that just wouldn't work in our world. If I didn't shop for the best deals year round my DH would loose his mind and start dropping money like it was growing on trees in our backyard. Something about the music and decorations in the mall, and he has visions of bankbook grandeur. I think there's subliminal messages in with the rousing renditions of Frosty the Snowman & Here Comes Santa Clause. ~No, I'm not paranoid. *giggles*

Nope. Not a thing. Both kids have b-days this month, car ins, tuition, parents anniv.,sweetest day,cap and gown. a school parking pass and a partridge ignored in a pear tree.

I like to get a tree and some perfume from a local lady. The "kids" are adults and want cashola. Parents don't like gifts anymore. DH wants his subscriptions and gun club membership renewed. Prob. won't go to the mall.

Since I am strapped this year, I had big plans to make all of my gifts, I was going to start this summer, when it is my slow time at work because now I work tons. Did I start? Nope. Not a one. I do plan on starting some this week though. Last year I was sewing buttons on a throw at 11:00 pm on Christmas Eve. I hope to not be doing that this year.

I have only started Christmas to save money. I'm making things. One of them is a cross stitch project that takes a long time. I almost NEVER go to the mall. They are too expensive!!

    Palooka
do you mean that your kids get their Christmas gifts in May or June? Not sure I understand what you mean. I definately think that Christmas has gotten way too commercialized and people have gotten their spending way out of control, but I love making and buying gifts for the people I care about. And like Polly has been creative about cooking and gift giving; I've been that way about gift giving always. Saves a ton of money and people usually enjoy presents that alot of thought was put into.

    Tervsforme,

You sound just like me. I'm a last minute gal; this year I'm trying to be better. I never get anything Christmas done for me; too busy making gifts for others.

Haven't done a thing. I don't do much shopping and when I do, it's usually done online. Hate being in stores Nov-Jan. Not a fan of going towards the end of October either, seems like Christmas comes earlier & earlier to retailers and I hate getting hit over the head with holiday hoopla for months. I leave room at the shopping centers for those of you who love to shop in that um atmosphere. Enjoy!

I hate shopping and suck at gifts, so will end up avoiding it for as long as possible then have a mid-December nervous breakdown.

If you see someone crying at the mall on December 23, that's me.

Aww, it'll all work out, don't stress it. Tis the season to be good to yourself too so don't heap expectations of what you "should" do. No such thing as perfect so just do what you can/want and sit back and know that keeping it simple is a gift to others as well as yourself. Isimple joys.
