My brother gave my dad some free tickets to a show in Detroit (Celtic Thunder at the Fox Theatre) and my dad invited me and DH. DH was sick, so I went with my dad and his girlfriend to see it. It was so much fun and we had a suite with dinner included. Guess who we shared a suite with? Chuck Woolery from the dating game and wheel of fortune! I didn't get a chance to meet him but my dad did and said he seemed like a nice guy. So, that was my nice Christmas treat.....great show, great company, great food.....what more could a girl ask for? LOL

We always drive around looking at the holiday lights after church on Christmas eve. We make decorating the tea an event. We watch Christmas movies, have some special treats, hot chocolate and watch holiday themed movies.

Our city has a Lights on the Lake" presentation, and one night a year you can just walk through for no charge instead of paying to drive through. We also do jingle bell runs with hot cocoa and kids dressed in jammies looking at house lights.

We always watch the 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story starting Christmas Eve. We're having some friends over, and while that plays over and over in the background, we'll be playing some board games.

We watched the boat show last night from our balcony. It was insane to see how many people it drew just from around the complex. There's two other buildings here that aren't on the water and so many of them came down to the fire pit that's bay side to watch the show. There must have been 50-75 people down there. There was probably 30 or so boats in the light show and they all decorated their sailboats/yachts with Christmas lights and decorations. Some of them were playing music...one of which was playing Brick House...of all things LOL. And they just cruised along the bay-wall and then back again about an hour later. It was really neat. I've never seen anything like it before. People seem to go really nuts with lights and things down here...maybe because we don't get snow like most people? Or maybe because it's easier to put lights and things up when it's not -10 out and icy on the roof.
