Why... oh why?
Why do I ALWAYS leave things to the last minute? I mean really. I do this every year. Christmas is on the SAME day every year. It's not like "surprise! it's here". So WHY do I do this to myself. Maybe if I don't get ready, it will wait? Maybe if I wait long enough, it will pass me by?
Ok, really. I LOVE Christmas. I love the family get together, I love the food, and friends. I love giving gifts. So why do I wait till the last minute to put them together? I haven't wrapped the kids' stuff yet, and I haven't finished putting together the adults stuff. I have to leave tomorrow! So I have to get it done today. But the kids are running rampant - mainly because they see me caught up in stuff. Agh.
Next year I WILL get things done sooner.

The Christmas count down thread really helped me this year. Did you participate in that?
What Did You Accomplish Today in Preparation for Christmas? Only 59 more days!
I'm looking forward to that kick-in-the-butt again for next year. I didn't see you on the first page of it but I didn't scroll through the whole thing lookin' for you.
It does come once a year, but life happens the rest of the 364 days so beat yourself up about it. Stay focused on your other goals, family, it will all work out.
My sil waits until the last minute because she feels she is more productive when she's under the gun. Nothing wrong with that as long as she enjoys the rush. Me, I don't like that feeling.LDR

Hey, I'm a member of "puts so much off til the last minute" club too!
I've even tried making "notes" during/after Christmas in a effort to get it together the next year. It hasn't helped yet, but at least I know where my problem areas are.
Well, there's hoping that next year will be different. Off to make more notes. hohoho

Procrastination is a
. I have this problem, too.
You can do it! It might be a complete pain in the bum, but you'll get it done and then you can concentrate on the parts of Christmas that you love.
Think of the fun bits ahead to keep you motivated

Yeah, sorry you all go through this, too. I am trudging through getting these gifts ready. Of course nothing is going right, but isn't that what happens when you procrastinate? Anyway, I am almost done, then I need to wrap and start making my lists. We are taking Christmas on the road - food, presents and all - and I need to not forget anything!

I have resigned to the fact that it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't put things off to the last minute.
