I did pick up some Christmas cards and wrapping paper on the 26th. I got them at the Dollar store and they were only 50 cents each! I didn't know they put their items on sale. I also have my SIL done for next year and a few stocking stuffers for my Mom.

one year my kids and i used christmas stamps bought at 75% off the year before and leftovers of craft paint i had sitting around and stamped lunch bags from the $$ store with holiday designs - andy small gifts were put in these - with the top folded down and a Chritmas lable to close them .
we had 100 bags that lasted us a few years ( we may still have some in the attic ) and cost under
2c each all supplies included .*~Debbi~*

Target's Christmas and the Pink dots in the $ Spot area are 50% off. I went ahead and picked up Christmas cards for next year and some baking goodies for the near future. I would've waited on the Christmas cards but I have no idea when I'd make another Target trip.

I did make it to the "Rollback" aisles at Wal-Mart and picked up some Christmas cookie cutters that I plan to give with some gifts for Christmas 2011. These will go into my gift box for the year. That's it so far but I am planning to get into a couple of downtown stores tomorrow.

Oops...I forgot. Along the Christmas 2011 line, I am planning to make two Christmas gifts a month this year so that I have a great headstart on a homemade Christmas for 2011.

I got 1 tote box organized of misc. Christmas stuff... wrapping supplies, stockings, table cloth, cards, tape, ribbon, etc... I just need to make an inventory list and tape to the inside of the clear bin so little fingers can't rip/shred/eat the paper!

I was snowed in until Monday night and after shoveling out, I had no desire to climb over snow piles that night.
I did stop at Kmart on Tuesday. There wasn't much left but it isn't because of the sales... the local Kmart pulls most of the stuff off the shelves unless it's food or dated.
Luckily, I did stumble across a few things that will be put away for later - a 5 bottle perfume set, 6 piece body butter, 4 piece Axe set and a jewlery box.
Walgreens and RiteAid had nothing spectacular either.
The Dollar Tree looked as if it was invaded
I plan on going back today to see if they have any of the candy jars leftover. Diva has 5 teachers. I'll buy the candy to fill them after Halloween.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I did pick up some more wrapping paper, curling ribbon and ornaments for the tree on the 26th at Target and only spent $5!!! I need to get some gifts lined up since I really want to start a "gift box". I am going to try and make 5 scarfs this year....i've never knitted before so here's to hoping!

I dug down to my gift bin over the weekend & discovered several nice gifts for 2011 just waiting! I definitely need to make my bin more accessible. Have a plan to reorganize my closet next weekend to fix this. I'm certain there are more "gifts" stuck back in another closet. Some I'm planning to use for birthdays though.
I resisted buying quite a bit on Saturday since I already have similar things on hand. Best not to have 5 books for 1 person. KWIM? Still considering what I'd like to give several on my list. Seems I give the same sort of gifts year after year. Not sure if that's bad if they seem to like it.
Didn't find the Christmas cards or gift wrap I wanted. Not much of a selection at the 3 stores I went to, but its no big deal. I'll check several more when I out over the next week or so.

I found 2 pictures in my linen closet when I was cleaning/organizing. They are pictures I want framed for my mom but I am so hung up on "the perfect frame" that I haven't done it yet.
Here's the scoop:
My mom about 12 yrs old, in front of her childhood 1-room school chalkboard.
Years later, we took the same picture of her, I think in her 50's, in front of the same 1-room school chalkboard!
So, its like this perfect side-by-side picture, I really want to do it up right. This thread reminded me that I may as well start shopping for a frame now. Worst case, maybe best case, I make one? I am envisioning a school or chalkboard affect for the frame. Is that too cheesy?LDR

Challenges for 2012:
2012 Grocery Budget Reduction Challenge- $100 a month. (down from $150) Hm, might be too low.
Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)
Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

What a wonderful gift for your Mom - chalkboard frame would not be cheesy at all - cute idea!!
I am avoiding after Christmas sales because I am decluttering - so far, not too bad in that area!!
Am going to be framing a lot of things for Christmas and other presents throughout the year, so I will have my eyes out for frames.
Picked up the yarn I wanted for a present yesterday for 60 cents - what a wonderful deal!!
I have extra Marble notebooks - you remember those black and white composition books? Have fabric to make covers and pens to stick in them too. Want to make some up by the end of this school year.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
