Although previously i was picking stuff up throughout the year as well as the after Christmas sales, I stopped that a few years ago because I realized I had accumulated an enormous gift closet that wasn't putting out nearly as many gifts as it was taking in.

This month, while doing my massive basement decluttering and organizing project (I posted pics elsewhere if anyone is interested), I actually went through EVERY SINGLE Christmas box, literally ornament by ornament, decoration by decoration, gift by gift.

I weeded out what I would never actually give as gifts (gave those to Goodwill) and designated a specific shelf in my newly organized area for gifts and reboxed all the Christmas stuff nicely and neatly and labeled everything. Now I know exactly what I have for wrapping paper, bows, cards, decorations, gift baskets, gift bags, etc. Feels so good to be organized.

I also have a good handle on what gifts I actually have on hand and will make a greater effort to use those up this year. Plus I will be more selective in what I buy this year, knowing what I already have.

Hi all, It's good to find some like minded Christmassy types! As soon as the sale boards went up I started looking for bargains and presents for friends & family. I've a cupboard specifically set aside for these gifts, so they're out of the way and I can plan to my heart's content!

Just remembered, I've still got my Christmas cards from last year sat in that cupboard too. I've got some really tiny red luggage tags and will cut out tiny pictures from the cards, glue them on, and have some totally bespoke gift tags.

Another thought, I've still got some Christmas cake left... Think I'll have a slice now.

Someone just gifted us with Christmas cereal with pecans - will make a great snack!!

Cannot rap my head around Christmas right now - don't know why - certainly not my usual MO. ......that being said, I did find some crocheted dishcloths that I forgot I had started, so there's that in the works....... and I found some cones from cotton yarn that I have a use for. Guess I really am on track, just a much slower one than usual!!

Well, last year's cards are now a pile of cute looking tags ready for next year. I got a bag of 100 tags though and haven't even scratched the surface yet! I think I'll have to invest in a silver or gold gel ink pen and get creative with snowflakes and bells for the rest.

One of the local pharmacies had an offer on one of the fizzy drinks - buy two (for however much it was) and get a free nail polish. So I did, and that has gone away into my present cupboard. Getting there!

HE BEAT ME TO IT! My dear fiance bought his first 2011 Christmas present this weekend and I haven't bought ANY! haha Guess I'm teaching him well.

We were shopping at the outlet mall this weekend and he found a Rugby ball with his brother's favorite team's logo on it. Its securely tucked away in the gift closet.

I have had absolutely no ideas for christmas yet...to focused on wedding first...its going to be a late year for me this year!

    Working on:
    Get under 200 lbs. 44/47lbs
    Getting Back on Track!

    It's been a really slow start this year. I'm just not finding good things on clearance, I was mostly done by this time last year. At this point I have;

2 toy story sleeping sacks with duffle
    5 Dove's Mens care deodorants

A really slow start, I hope clearance sales pick up.

I was busy making things but 6 weeks in a cast so far has put a damper om things. I like the paper bags idea for gifts. MM I was also making my ornaments for the ornament exchange. Lol I don't like last minute things. I also have candles to regift. I want it all done already.
