Homemade Gift Ideas for Grandparents
Since things are a little tight this year I am looking for some ideas that my kids could make for their grandparents this year for Christmas.

How old are your kids? How about getting a canvas and some non-toxic acrylic paints and let them go to town on the canvasses? We did this with my son with canvasses we got at the dollar store one year and the grandparents loved them.

They are 13,12,10,10,9 and 7. That is a really neat idea.

They could make photo magnets or fridge magnets of any kind. You can use the lids from ornage juice cans and get the magnets o a strip from any craft store and then let their creativity go with some glitter & a picure.

I have made a photo collage in a picture frame. You could find a nice frame at a thrift store and I am seeing lots of deals for cheap/free photos

Gparents usually "have it all" already... so making homemade cookies/candies or treats the GParents would enjoy & having all the kids give a few trays of goodies (a collective gift) would be loved by all!

My kids made their great-grandmother a painted t-shirt with their handprints on it in various colors. She loved it!

I'm a grandmother, and I treasure books my grand kids write and illustrate. I like things that are useful and/or don't take up much space, so things like homemade baked goods, pot holders, or small pictures are great also.

I'm a Gr'ma with ole' knees. I would love a gift certificate of... mopping my floor, cleaning the tub, raking leaves, vacuuming the couch, washing the legs of my kitchen table, etc. I would just love it.....

One year, the Houseapes made a bird feeder from an empty (cleaned out) bleach jug. They cut a window on the side, put a dowel rod through the top & attached a piece of strong twine on both ends of the rod for a hanger...then they decorated it. To go with their gift, we bought a bag of cheap bird seed & their grandparents absolutely loved the gift. They still have it hanging in their tree

My dad has an office, & one year the kids took an empty juice container(frozen juice), glued fabric to it, then glued macaroni to the fabric....then they spray painted the whole thing in gold. That became a pen holder. Then we found a beautiful rock while on a walk. Brought it home & cleaned it up. we glued the rock to a wooden circular foundation(which was found at hobby lobby) & painted "PaPa's Desk" on the foundation...then we spray painted a clear "paint" over the entire paperweight. Turned out really nice...we also bought little things to go w/these gifts...like colored paperclips, stickynotes & other inexpensive office items.

The g-parents keep a garden so i think the plan this year is to make stepping stones: a large one that says their names and a small one for each grandchild
