    Cool What is it about..........

    Kohl's that I just don't get??????

I have friends that really like that store. Have heard they "have good sales" but I haven't seen them.

I have been in there TWICE and had pricing "issues" each time.........I don't see what is so special about that store!!!
And you will NEVER see a clerk walking around.........they must only hire cashiers............and that is where they all stay!!

First time there..........I could tell they had put a higher $ tag over the old price and then reduced the item 25% (think it was.......not great).......when I mentioned it at check out she reduced it to the old price..(I had pulled up the tag!)........then took the % off.

Today......the thing I went to buy was $5 more at the store than online...........when I mentioned it they accepted online price......Okay---some would say good cust. service.......but WHY should I have to be the shopping police??????

Does anyone else shop there? Like it? Why? or why not??

OMG, I don't like Kohl's at all! I used to shop there a lot in the past. Especially for clothes and the quality sucks! Walley World has better clothes then Kohl's. Nothing appeals to me there, no sale, nothing.

When I was down in the US for Thanksgiving, I was shocked by that store too. Not impressed. Seems like a low end dept store, glorified WalMart with a dept store layout. The pricing wasn't great BUT I think people like them b/c their pricing is less then JCP/Sears/Macys but the quality is better then WalMart? And they have their own store loyalty and incentive programs. You earn points with store credit card, vouchers for virtual cash on your NEXT purchase and then you get more vouchers just b/c you paid using the bonus bucks. I wasn't paying 100% attention when my MIL was paying but it seemed like that.

Not bad but again...the pricing wasn't making me want to part with my money.

I don't shop there often, but when they mail their 10 dollar off coupons, I can get great deals. I was able to get the vw beetle barbie (originally fifty dollars) for seventeen.

I was able to get a set of imaginext airplanes for a 1.48. They were originally 22.

I only shop there occasionally. But i like it just fine. The kihls cash is nice its like every $50 you spend u get $10 kohls cash and they will bombard u with coupons once your in their system. Lots of clearance stuff to be had.

I love kohl's. But you have to shop it right. I get clearance when they have the buy $50 get $10 sales. I you went on senior day (wed?) you could kill.
A few years ago I got designer name (Tony Hawk) jeans $10 from $50. got 5 pair and got my $10 back too. I love their after christmas clearance too. They have nice wrapping paper.
But yes it is pretty standard to have it cheaper on the internet w/ a lot of stores. They save by not shipping to stores and you save going. I always check the coupon discount code sites and hit well too. and of course free shipping.

    I love Kohl's. Wow.

The thing I really like is that you can ALWAYS find a dress there when you need one.

But I can see how your expereince might color your impression. For example, I will NEVER set foot in a Denney's ever again after we had horrible - unrepentantly horrible - service at one on vacation.

I think they have good quality clothing, and if you shop the clearance/sales with their 20% or 30% off coupons you can really save big.

I have shopped Walmart and had clothing fall apart after 2-3 wearings, the stuff I got from Old Navy shrunk so much after 1 wash I had to throw it out, and everything at Target feels scratchy or icky to me.

Kohl's sells my brand name jeans, and with a sale and the coupons they mail each month I can get them at 50 or 60% off the retail price.

They always have men's shirts on clearance. DH needs long sleeve shirts for summer because they keep his office really cold, so I can pick them up cheap. He is hard on cuffs and collars. I refuse to pay $45 for men's dress shirts that he wears out so quickly.

DH also likes the quality there. We can one stop shop for him, slacks, shirts, undies without him complaining that the fabric is scratchy.

You're right though, they don't have a lot of clerks on the floor, but then I seldom need help from them so it's not an issue for me. And they do change their prices a lot with Early Bird sales and evening Power Hours, but if you're willing to put in the effort to track the items you want, and use their coupons at the right time you can get real bargains.

I used to enjoy going to kohl's and looking at their clearance racks. But lately I am finding that alot of their clothes seem cheaply made. It might look good on the hanger but put it through the washer and dryer and it looks horrible. Can usually find better made clothing at the thrift store. Guess it just depends on what you are looking for.

I do go to the store when they send me a $10 off coupon. Then I look around for something around $10.

There is nothing wrong with not liking a store and staying away from it. Good thing you were on your toes with the prices. I was able to get a pair of shoes marked down even more because of a small defect. When I got home used a marker to cover up the defect and you can't even tell.

I like their clothing quality, but I agree that not every sale is a good sale. I appreciate the fact that the 30% coupons can be used on everything - no brand restrictions or clearance restrictions.

I do find clothing shopping their is a hit or miss - sometimes I find stuff, sometime I don't.

Their housewares and stuff are also pretty good.

    i hate kohls.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Our Kohl's always feels like such a mess, making it unpleasant to shop. However, I will trek in there for Carter's or OshKosh boys clothes, my favorite fit of Levi's, and the Maidenform bras I like since they have the best prices in town on those items.

I love shopping at Kohls when on the mainland - but then I am comparing it to shopping here - very little to choose from. Like the smallness of it - not so many choices and that's fine with me. They carry Gloria Vanderbilt jeans - fit me perfectly.

Need to buy a new pair of jeans soon and want to pick up a small size, so shall look at online Kohls - but I definitely do not want to get hooked on online shopping.
