A million years ago an ex bf gave me one of those glass barometer thermometer things with floating and sinking balls. Um. Really? I forget what else he gave me, there were three random items like that, so bizarre.

I give lame gifts sometimes. I don't mean to, but I do.

Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

I actually like bad Christmas gifts. *snort* I get a real kick out of it. Like the time my Mom bought us those little 30 second recorders so we wouldn't lose our car in the parking lot. ROFL! We've gotten a slue of "just like on TV" items from my Mom. My Dad was much worse, he'd buy us the most unbelievable stuff you could imagine. Pants 10X's too big! Yep, when I was in my very early 20's, my Dad bought me a pair of jeans size 44! And a record, back when records were in, that had some unknown band. This really frightening looking bald guy, clearly heavy metal rock. My Dad figured I was that age so I MUST listen to this band! It was a hoot!

I won't say who in case she stumbles upon this website, but we have a new family member and she's the worst. She tries so hard, and it's just so wrong. I LOVE it!

I've never once said a word, I appreciate the thought they put behind their gifts, even if we'd never, ever use them. The giggles they inspire for years afterwards are more than enough for me. Seriously, bad gifts are the bomb! It's a bad gift only if the giver really didn't care if they pleased you or not.

No flops here cuz we don't exchange gifts...and that is because my hubby is adorable but he doesn't get gift giving...he is horrible because he hates shopping so he grabs the first thing he sees. One year he gave me a rolling chair for the kitchen...thoughful but I had no way to use it as everytime I used it, I would hurt my back from twisting cuz there was no place to put my legs so I had to sit sideways...he kept giving me nail polish and files...I don't use either. Finally I told him we would not exchange gifts since we are at a place in our lifes where we can purchase what we want and not wait till Christmas. Bless him for trying tho..

I am a cash only kind of gal. All of my gifts come in the form of dead presidents and I love each and every single one of them.

None of us really had any big flops this year. In my stocking I got a pair of slippers that are too small. But, I'll just donate them and they can keep someone else's feet warm and toasty.

My MIL is getting better as she ages~!

One year I got a used roaster she bought at a garage sale. This year....she got me a loaf pan made by Paula Dean..along with a spatula and oven mitts!
    At least it wasn't a roaster~!!!!!! LOL!

(I have to admit tho-i DID use that roaster quite a bit!) It just wasn't my idea of a christmas gift.

No flops here. Everyone liked what they got. I'm not a good gift giver. I can never think of anything anyone would like that I can afford!

No real flops for me this year, but my petite 23-year-old FSIL got a neon pink patent handbag from her aunt in which there were two ABSOLUTELY INDESCRIBABLY MASSIVE, lacy, partially transparent pairs of pants (as in underwear/'knickers') wrapped in a sandwich bag. So weird, but completely and utterly hilarious.

Lol, kinda sounds like he was dropping you hints! Do you think he might have wanted you to get him an ipad?

No flops (hubby and kids did great, I was spoiled). Well, EXCEPT ~ MIL gift, I got a used Utah coffee cup, never been to Utah, have no intention of going to Utah, I don't drink coffee and as she saw in May, I'm not hurting for coffee cups.. In her case, it is lack of wanting to make effort.

I collect state magnets, but only from states I've been too, not/never cups.

My wife bought me a robe. Not only do I not wear robes, have no intention of wearing robes, but the robe she got me was far too small.

It's going back to the store, in exchange for a dinner at the wing joint.
